Northwest Outlet: More than just an online store

Northwest Outlet has been a fixture in the Twin Ports of Superior, WI and Duluth, MN as well as the upper Midwest for over 60 years. As a family owned and operated store, we like to focus on great customer service, products and services. Over the years, great relationships have built and many of our customers have also become our friends.

We sell a full line of sporting goods from Fishing and Hunting items, Camping gear, Footwear, Clothing and Outerwear from names like Columbia Sportswear and Carhartt, truck toppers by A.R.E. and Unicover, and all the accessories to outfit them. Our staff is the most knowledgeable because they not only sell the products, they use the products that we sell.

Sometimes when you shop online you lose that ‘personal touch’ that comes from talking to a real, live person and we like to balance that out with the phone support we offer by the staff that is on-hand at our physical store (yes, even our online customer service is in the same building!). If any of you are ever in the area, we would love for you to stop in and visit!

Check out below just a few shots from inside Northwest Outlet and just some of what we have to offer!

Getting All Layered Up

We here at Northwest Outlet take staying warm very seriously. During the Fall you can find yourself in temperatures from the 30’s and 40’s in the morning sometimes all the way up into the 70’s at the peak of the day. To keep yourself comfortable, sometimes layering is the best option. Pull on a fleece over your shirt or underclothing so that you can peel it off and toss it aside (or nicely fold it, your choice really), or grab a sweatshirt to pull on when the sun starts to set and the temperatures start to drop. Even some of our favorite jackets give you layering options (need a rain jacket? Just use the shell!). Whether you’re going to trekking through a corn maze with the family or just taking a quick run into town, we have plenty of options to offer. If you notice something missing (ahem, socks), they will be getting their very own post later!

A standard layering piece that most (c’mon, admit it, you have one) have in their wardrobe, car or closet. Coming in several different weights and styles, you can usually find one that suits pretty much every need. Below you can find fleece styles ranging from basic lighter weight shirts to slightly heavier full-zip jackets.

Base Layers

And if you want to start from the real bottom up (or at least closer to the skin), don’t forget about one of the most important layering pieces for colder weather. If you’re going to be outside in the cold for any length of time, a good base layer is an absolute necessity. It will help you capitalize on the insulation from your outer layers, not to mention most styles will keep the chill from your skin by wicking away moisture from outdoor exertion.
